FAPL Letter

Open Clothes Doors Event Huge Success!

Last week, on the 3rd floor of the Capitol Rotunda, FAPL and the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence teamed up with Dress for Success and Club 25 Women to collect business clothing for distribution to statewide domestic violence centers.

The effort produced 27 18-gallon storage bins with about 40 items in each container. That is more than 1000 items for distribution to FCADV centers.

In addition to the many Legislators, Staff, Lobbyists and Friends of FAPL, a special thanks to volunteers Diane Mathews (FCADV); Dia Kuykendal (Visit Florida); Wendy Barber (Club 25); Meghan Kelly (Lisa Miller & Associates); Beth Anderson (Club 25); Leisa Wiseman (FCADV); Elizabeth Fetterhoff (Zepp Strategic Partners); Victoria Zepp (Zepp Strategic Partners); and Adam Potts (FICPA).

Drop-offs outside the Capital were provided by Judi Taylor (Club 25 & Jenny Craig who sent 2 car loads from her Jenny Craig clients); Mad Dog Construction; Wendy Hedrick (Dress for Success); and the Governors Club. A thank you also goes to Belk’s Department Store for supplying the hanging racks.

We are also grateful to Ed George (Ed George Group) for his work in getting Leisa Wiseman and Victoria Zepp on the “Live at Five” program at WCTV to promote the event.

Thanks to all for supporting FAPL in this very worthwhile cause. See you next year!

Candidate Interviews for 2010 Legislative Elections

Once again, FAPL will offer its unique brand of Legislative Candidate interviews. We don’t ask them to give you canned answers. We put you in a room with the candidate, keep the interviewer numbers low enough for everyone to ask questions and leave it to you to ask what you want to know!

I know you were focused on session. But, spaces are filling rapidly and we need to know if you want to participate in FAPL’s candidate interviews. You need to be a part of something that will enable you to learn more about the candidates than simply what is in their literature, on their website or what you hear from friends. There’s nothing like seeing for yourself to ensure you’re making the wisest use of your PAC funds. The interviews will begin at 9:15 in the morning and be finished by 5:15 in the afternoon. Locations will be announced when they have been arranged.

  • Miami – May 18, 19, 20 (three full days) HQ of Dade County Federal Credit Union at 1500 NW 107th Ave., near Doral.
  • West Palm Beach – June 8-9 (two full days) board room of IBM Southeast Employees Credit Union, 1000 N.W. 17th Ave. Delray Beach Fl. 33445
  • July 1-2 Orlando (all day Thursday through mid-afternoon on Friday)
  • July 13 – Pensacola (all day)
  • July 19-20 – Tampa (Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday)
