LOL Like Our Legislature – January 14, 2013

LOL Like Our Legislature

We are all accustomed to the LOL lingo – Lots Of Love and Laugh Out Loud. In this case, we all want to “Like Our Legislature”! Wouldn’t it be great if we could go online and “like” our Legislature? So… let’s see if we will like them after we hear the first in a series of committee meetings this week.

In the House-Insurance Committee Meeting at 9:00am Tuesday Jan 15, 2013

Please click HERE for the House Insurance Committe agenda – and take a minute to see who is on the committee (see links below that will take you to the members on the committee). For example, there is Rep. John Wood who was quoted as saying, “I am not gonna let Dade County take down the rest of this state.” See Rep. Wood’s opinion piece Saturday 1/12/13 about Citizens in the Tallahassee Democrat ; and then there is Rep. David Santiago who said, “It’s pretty simple; we just need to stop policies coming into Citizens and charge the right price for those that do.” This should prove to be another lively meeting with legislators who are not offical member of this committee weighing in on the debate.

In the Senate-Insurance Committee meeting at 3:00pm Wednesday Jan 16, 2013

Chairman David Simmons of Orange County is looking for some folks to “like” the Senate this year on insurance issues. He has invited Citizens, OIR and others to come and tell him and the other senators on the committee how to fix the insurance market. You won’t want to miss this, view the agenda HERE .

Who should we “Like”?

Which on of these committee members are from your neck of the woods?

House Members      Senate Members

So, without fail, go visit these legislators – talk to them about health insurance, auto insurance, property insurance or any other topic that is near and dear to your heart. Get to know them, let them get to know you and get involved! And be sure to listen to the committee meetings; you’ll be glad you did!

Will follow up with you later this week!

My best and thanks for all you do, Lisa
