It’s the season of congratulations, with high school and college graduations abounding. But let’s not forget about us adults as we build upon our ongoing learning and apply it to providing practical solutions now and in the future. So congratulations is in order to the following.
The Florida Housing Coalition: Congrats to the Florida Housing Coalition for being honored with the 2021 Public/Private Achievement Award from the Governor’s Hurricane Conference. LMA is proud to take part in the coalition these past couple of years. I have provided the insurance education component to the Coalition’s webinar series on disaster recovery. Learning is a two-way street, as I always walk away with fresh ideas from coalition members to help consumers.
The Dade County Farm Bureau: Just over a year ago near the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the Florida Farm Bureau and its Miami-Dade County chapter began the Farm to Prison Pilot Program (featured in a past newsletter). It’s an example of how a pandemic and associated Governor’s Executive Order changed policy for the better, at least for a while. This innovative food distribution program with Senator Jeff Brandes brought needed fresh produce to Florida prisons and helped local farmers whose supply chains were disrupted by the pandemic. LMA: Our firm, Lisa Miller & Associates, was just honored with the Best of Tallahassee 2021 Award for Consulting Services. The honor “recognizes the positive contributions of exemplary companies in the community.” It is a reflection of our firm’s hard work, passion, determination, and diligence on behalf of our clients and the insurance and disaster recovery consumers of the great state of Florida.
