The holidays are a time to gather around family and hold them tight – and that includes our fur babies of all species! As we’ve done in years past, my family and I hosted a holiday party last month to express our appreciation to friends and colleagues and to collect their donations of much-needed food for the too many dogs in our community who would otherwise have to skimp. Together, we collected more than 60 bags of dog food for needy pups and their human companions.
The picture below is yours truly with helper Mike Rogers and Dana McGee, a volunteer with Last Hope Rescue, filling up an entire pickup truck with the holiday goodies, which were distributed to Elder Care Services and the Leon County Humane Society. If you live in the greater Tallahassee area, I hope you’ll consider donating to Last Hope – they and their volunteers do great work!
Speaking of holiday spirit, our loyal newsletter reader Gregory Holder with the Zinober Diana & Monteverde law firm in Tampa, sent in the above picture of his rescue pooch Thor, who definitely got into the holiday spirit! Absolutely precious and thank you Greg! Happy New Year to All!
See you on the trail,
Lisa
