Haven’t we all been forgetting something this year? Of course, in normal times we would have already had our annual trips to the fair without even the mention of a pandemic. But things are just beginning to open back up and after being delayed two months, The Florida State Fair is back with all the funnel cake your heart could ever desire. Its 12-day run begins this Thursday in Tampa.
The fair, founded in Tampa in 1904, garnered about 455,000 guests in February of 2020 just before the pandemic hit, earning its spot as the 5th largest fair in the country.
Those running the fair have waited patiently for COVID-19 cases to drop and more vaccinations to take place before reopening. Face masks will be required indoors and out, except when eating, for anyone over the age of 5. It’s a small price to pay to once again enjoy your favorite fair foods, rides, circus animals, entertainment and of course, the legendary high-speed, high-intensity action sport of the Hollywood Racing Pigs! Tickets and information can be found at floridastatefair.com.
See you at the Fair – and on the trail,
Lisa
