With my recent health issues, I have had the good fortune to have a pal send me a daily devotional which reminds me how blessed I am. I read in these daily teachings about grace, hope, facing fears and all those thing we learned growing up. So when I read the story about the Moberg family (father and daughter duo) surviving a Tampa Bay area lightning strike, it reminded me there are miracles every day.
John Moberg and his daughter flew from a Chicago suburb to Tampa to see their beloved Yankees in spring training. As is customary in Florida, an afternoon storm brewed and they left the stadium. Not being familiar with what NOT to do during a storm to avoid a lightning strike, they took shelter under a tree.
Daughter Ashley said what happened next was surreal with the lightning flash sending her dad through the air, landing on his face on the ground, breaking his cheek bone and rendering him immobile. Ashley too, was struck with her metal necklace burning into her neck and her tennis shoes flying off her feet.
They both survived a direct strike and the Yankees gave them a pair of tickets for a May game against the Chicago White Sox and Ashley scored an autographed ball from her favorite player Aaron Judge.
I still believe in miracles…do you? Share your miracle with me please. Would love to hear them! Up next? A terrific assortment of news you can use!
