I don’t know about you but I have more energy when the sun shines and its daylight. The minute our state moves to the dark winter evenings, I automatically get sleepy around 6 pm and the rest of the night goes downhill.
So when I saw last year that Southwest Florida Congressman Greg Steube was attempting to move Florida into fulltime Daylight Savings Time and this year a group of Florida lawmakers in Washington are attempting to spread the sunlight full time across the country, I just smiled. The old saying goes that any good idea and/or proposed legislation takes at least 3 years to get across the finish line, so maybe this second year attempt will reverse that trend.
Just for fun, ask the next person that calls or emails you while you are reading this newsletter, “Hey did you hear that there is a possibility Congress might pass a law to give us year-round sunshine and no more early dark winter nights?” Let us know what you hear and we may start our own grassroots campaign to let Congress know all our readers support it!
Please keep reading for a great array of stories and of course, our Bill Watch, which has become quite popular during the legislative session since so many of you are following closely Florida’s House and Senate action. We welcome your feedback always. Have a great week!
