In the past 30 days, I lost two of my three dogs, with our 16 year old letting us know it was time and our 4 year old passing away unexpectedly from a rare blood disease. Such a painful time for us and as fate would have it, we had scheduled a time to see another potential dog for us to foster, recommended by the Last Home Rescue team.
In a nutshell, we lost our 4 year old on a Wednesday and kept the appointment to see the potential foster puppy (10 months old) the day after. We felt we could not cancel the appointment and just needed to follow through even though we had such heavy hearts. We met the puppy and brought her home although we were so sad about losing two within 8 days. We knew there was a reason we were in line to meet this sweet puppy, and cannot stress enough that fostering and/or adopting rescue dogs is so gratifying.
