I hope all of you are home enjoying the time doing something that makes you smile. I haven’t been out of the house in many days. I have C-SPAN on in the background and take call after call with clients, small business owners who are friends and colleagues, and family. As an avid gardener, it’s amazing how much you can accomplish with a trowel, gloves and a cellphone. I would love to hear how you spend your days in between your phone calls and zoom video conferences! Pulling weeds? Planting seeds? Learning to cook? Reading or listening to a book?
I also helped a pal that owns a small pizza parlor put the finishing touches on his CARES Act Paycheck Protection Plan (PPP) application. It was easy. We went online, grabbed the application off his bank’s website (his bank is an SBA lender) and submitted it in about 10 minutes. When you come to Tallahassee, we will go see him! And for lots of you who have businesses less than 500 employees or are independent contractors, go to your bank website and apply!
Lastly, as you know, I find listening to the various state governors to be a real window into the states’ pictures of this virus. There’s so many different facets to the response by each and every one of these governors. I create transcripts to share with clients that attempt to capture every word they say and the feeling behind it. Here is one transcript from a recent press conference by New York Governor Cuomo that’s especially poignant, with the best close of all in the last paragraph. It will inspire you.
Thank you for being on the other end of this newsletter and my emails. Praying for us all. Standing by to help you. Up next, important developments to help guide your week ahead.
