I spend my days like many of you working from home. I’m under the 65 year-old threshold, so the vaccine isn’t available for me yet, but hopefully soon. Once in awhile, I venture out and last week I had the privilege of visiting with House Insurance and Banking Chairman, Nick DiCeglie, driving to his hometown of St. Pete and back in the same day.
For those of you who have traveled the highways and byways of Florida with me, you know how I love to drive, visit with clients and friends by phone, and occasionally a highway patrolman! The Chairman is a small businessman and when I asked him why on earth he ran for office, his spirit of humbleness and being grateful struck me. He said that he wanted to be in office so he could be a voice for small businesses …those that sign the front of a check and not the back of a check! As I was leaving the luncheon and walked to my car, I saw a hand written sign in front of a coffee shop. As you can see, it says, “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think!!” I couldn’t help but harken back to my conversation with the chairman.
