Like so many of you, I love to cook and one of my favorite chefs is Katie Lee. When I do have a TV on in the house I tune into the cooking channel and drool over the dishes as chefs serve them from the oven or cast iron pan. I watch Katie’s show and love the fact that she is so down to earth.
Katie started cooking when she was four and spent her early career working in restaurants and drink shops. She helped build New York’s Jeff and Eddy Restaurant in the early 2000’s and was the house chef. Her story is inspiring to know where she came from and her prominent place among the world’s top chefs. She said, “The grill is the equivalent of the fireplace…everyone gravitates to it!”
In our house we have two grills, two fireplaces, a Traeger smoker and a deep fry apparatus for the occasional summer fish fry. We love the outdoors even when it tops the high 90’s or bottoms to the low 20’s. To me, it’s all about family and connecting with people. The same families and people we serve as insurance industry team members. That’s why we all work so hard to make a difference for those who trust us to “handle it.”
I hope you will plan a trip to Tallahassee in the summer or winter so we can cook on the grill or sit by the fireplace. As Tom Bodett, Motel 6’s spokesperson says with a smile, “we’ll leave the light on!” Next up are some solid stories for you to get your week going!
