We’ve all enjoyed a wonderful meal with colleagues. Especially after all the time we’ve spent isolated the past couple years, breaking bread is an incredible way to foster and deepen relationships with associates. And while restaurants are fine, have you ever considered the idea of entertaining co-workers or business clients in your home?
If your first thought is, “that’s my personal space” then you’re exactly right. It IS your personal space. It’s not a gesture to be taken lightly, so imagine how valued and special your colleagues will feel when you open up your personal space to them. Bringing them into your home fosters a deeper level of connection and it heightens trust. It’s truly relationship building at its finest.
But it doesn’t have to be super-fancy. I often invite colleagues to my home for a salad bar and baked chicken and to meet my husband and fur babies. We laugh and have a great time. It always makes for a memorable evening and a lasting impression. Please give it a try – you might be surprised how much you, and even more importantly, your colleagues, might enjoy it!
