Lisa Miller’s vintage treasures
I read a story in Patch about the American Pickers TV show coming to Florida at the end of this year. I am a vintage zealot, loving silver, china, glassware and all the lovely things from 50+ years ago. There is a certain respect I have for monogrammed napkins and Lenox china because I know they were used at fabulous dinner parties in days gone by and the conversation and mood around these beautiful items was that much more rich when eating with silver flatware.
With social media, we are constantly looking for ways to make food look pretty and vintage dishes express who we are, whether at a restaurant or in our home. Vintage collectors talk about repurposing items and things with good energy. And think about it…plates, glassware, silver and such come with their own stories. Let’s call it what it is…Grandma chic! So for those of you who are collectors or just observers, we will find out where in Florida the American Pickers team will be and help you find them.
