American Integrity Insurance Participates in Mock Insurance Village to Help Promote Hurricane Preparedness

TAMPA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– July 29, 2016 07:00 AM– As many home insurers release hurricane preparedness tips on their blogs and social media, insurance companies like American Integrity Insurance are heeding their own advice. As one of the insurers invited to participate in the Department of Financial Services’ mock insurance village, American Integrity Insurance will have their mobile disaster recovery unit on display. The mock insurance village will be located at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 1505 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida 33607 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 10th. Attendees can walk through to get a sense of each company’s disaster response process.

“The mock insurance village is a wonderful opportunity for customers to see what our mobile disaster recovery unit would look like after an event such as a hurricane”

American Integrity’s mobile disaster recovery unit will feature an air-conditioned RV interior with a charging station for cell phones outside. Customers will be able to file a claim with professionals, who will use the convenience of mobile technology, both inside and outside of the RV. American Integrity’s mobile disaster recovery unit also emphasizes comfort for their policyholders.

“People are left reeling in the aftermath of a true catastrophic event,” says Teresa Heller, Senior Vice President of Claims at American Integrity Insurance. “Their homes may have been destroyed; they’ve just witnessed a lot of damage to their neighborhood. We want to provide them with as much convenience as we possibly can.”

Coloring books and crayons for children, first aid kits, snacks and water, hand fans, a place to sit down, even bug spray – these are just a few of the items American Integrity will have on hand.

Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and members of his executive management team, as well as local legislators and representatives from the local Emergency Operation Centers will be visiting the village, and media is also invited to attend.

“The mock insurance village is a wonderful opportunity for customers to see what our mobile disaster recovery unit would look like after an event such as a hurricane,” says Heller. “Our ability to provide immediate help in filing a claim and provide our policyholders with peace of mind are our number one priorities.”

After a catastrophe, the State of Florida would notify insurance companies about the date and location of a real pop-up insurance village. At which point, American Integrity Insurance would notify their policyholders about the location of their mobile disaster recovery unit.
